Big Rabbiteye bushes, not a manicured orchard
The farm has historically counted approximately 1,000 Rabbiteye blueberry plants of several varieties. Visitor accounts repeatedly note how large many of the bushes are—some feel more like small trees than tidy commercial rows.
That scale is part of the experience. You walk into the greenery, find ripe fruit, and fill a gallon at your own pace.
Typical season: Late June through July. Always check the current farm update before driving, because ripening and availability vary.
How blueberry picking works
- The farm supplies one-gallon containers to use while picking.
- Bring a larger container, cooler, or box for carrying berries home.
- Pick in the field, then transfer the berries before leaving.
- Follow the current payment instructions posted at the farm.
Why Rabbiteye?
The farm’s historical account says early work on the property compared blueberry types for north Georgia conditions. Rabbiteye varieties proved better suited than the Highbush plants first tried there, and many of the large bushes trace back to those early fields.
